My wages/benefits have been garnished, what can I do?

In a wage garnishment, the bailiff, on behalf of the person you owe money to, garnishes your wages from your employer. This means that the salary still to be paid is taken (in part).

Your salary is taken every month until your debt is paid off. Your employer is required by law to cooperate in this. Note: not all of your salary will be taken. Account is always taken of the “attachment-free foot”: that is, the portion of your salary that cannot be attached.

The above also applies in the case of a garnishment of your benefits.

What can I do if my wages/benefits have been garnished?

You can pay the entire outstanding amount at once via iDEAL or one of the other payment options. Once we have received and processed the payment, we will stop the wage garnishment with your employer.
